When used as a bridge, the BLS can span obstacles up to about 11’ wide. Specially designed bridging inserts may be installed when bridging to increase step surface area and thus enhancing safety. The bridging inserts install without the use of tools, for quick conversion from ladder to bridge mode. It should be noted that the breaching hooks are not typically used during bridging.
